Venice Grand Canal Boat Tour
The best way to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of a city built on water is by boat! Gliding through Venice's Grand Canal and minor canals, you'll be introduced to the splendid palaces, churches, bridges, gardens and warehouses lining the city's liquid streets. Your luxurious motor-launch boat tour of the Grand Canal brings the magic of Venice alive.
As you ride, you'll learn about the origins and evolution of the Grand Canal, Venice's most important 'street', and take a fascinating journey through minor canals to see parts of Venice that are seldom visited by tourists. Unlike a ride in a gondola, on the Grand Canal Boat Tour you'll travel through many diverse areas of the city and enjoy a thorough introduction to the city of Venice.
This boat tour is ideal for photographers! The boats are small enough to navigate the minor canals, with enough space for you to comfortably sit outside to take photographs and listen to the detailed commentary provided by your guide. All boats are equipped with microphones and speakers so you can clearly hear the commentary.
An absolute must if you're a first-time visitor to Venice, the Grand Canal Boat Tour will provide you with memories that will last a lifetime. (back to top)
Venice Ghost Walking Tour
- Price: from USD$27.46
Venice by night is a place of romance and mystery - and the ghosts of the past! This ghost walking tour takes you on a journey through the hidden Venice, and tells the tale of six intriguing ghost stories that will bring a chill to the night's air! In addition to hearing ghost stories and legends, you'll hear little-known facts about Venice and its history, and visit tucked-away backstreets well off the beaten track.
Your adventure starts at the Rialto Bridge, from where you'll descend into the labyrinth of Venice, crossing sleeping canals and abandoned squares. In fact it will feel as if you have Venice to yourself, as the only sounds you'll hear will be the echoes of distant footsteps.
In between the ghost stories, you'll hear gruesome tales from Venice's past as you take a stroll along the narrow alleyway called the street of the Assassins, and learn of the murders that have taken place there. You'll also explore a secret passageway, one of the few surviving that were used by the inhabitants of palaces to flee from the authorities (subject to water levels).
The walking tour also highlights architectural gems and follies lost in the backstreets of Venice, including the delightful Bovolo staircase built for a wealthy Venetian at a time when many Venetians still traveled around the city on horseback. The elaborate spiral staircase enabled the wealthy nobleman to ride his horse up to his private apartments within his palace.
After following a winding route through Venice's labyrinth of backstreets, the tour finishes near the Rialto Bridge, where you'll enjoy a fine view of the main bridge over the Grand Canal.

Travel into the exquisite mountain scenery of the Dolomites on a minivan day trip from Venice. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 people on this small group tour, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your knowledgeable guide. After only an hour's drive from Venice, you'll emerge into a land of towering peaks and peaceful valleys dotted with villages. Before entering the Sesto region, you'll stop for morning coffee at Pieve di Cadore, a typical Italian village surrounded by soaring peaks, the birthplace of the Renaissance painter Titian.
After stopping to admire Lake Santa Caterina, you'll visit Lake Misurina, 'the pearl of the Dolomites'. The lake is famous for its breathtaking views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the most celebrated peaks of the Sesto region.
